Pausanias

also: Lacedaemonio Pausania, the Spartan Pausanias

Spartan regent and victor of Plataea (479 BC), later accused of treasonous dealings with Persia and starved to death in a temple. Cicero adduces him, like Staienus, as a man undone by words overheard.
