Philargyrus (slave/freedman of Torquatus)

Philargyrus

also: Philargyrus

Slave or freedman of A. Manlius Torquatus who visited Cicero and reported faithfully on his master's troubled state of mind, prompting Fam. 6.1. Otherwise unattested; his Greek name ('fond of silver') is typical of servile nomenclature.
