Philocles

also: Philocles of Alabanda

Debtor of the Puteolan banker Cluvius, of the city of Alabanda in Caria. Had pledged property as security (hupothekai) on a loan, which had been forfeited by 51--50 BC; Cicero asked the propraetor of Asia, Q. Minucius Thermus, to compel either the surrender of the security or payment.
