Pontius Aquila

Pontius Aquila, tribune of the plebs in 45 BC, notorious for refusing to rise from his seat as Julius Caesar passed during a triumph; he joined the republican cause and was killed fighting at the battle of Mutina in April 43 BC, receiving posthumous honours on Cicero's motion.
