Q. Arrius, praetor 73 BC, defeated by Spartacus while serving as legate of the consul C. Cassius; later, as praetor, had been expected to succeed Verres in Sicily, a prospect which the province welcomed (Verr. 2.2.37; 2.4.42). Active politician of the late 60s, friend of Cicero, host of the dinner at Pro Sestio (Vat. 30; Pro Mil. 46).
