Caecilius Bassus

A Pompeian officer who in 46 BC raised a revolt in Syria, killed the Caesarian governor Sex. Iulius Caesar, and held out at Apamea; in 44-43 BC he remained a republican strongpoint in the east before his troops were absorbed by Cassius.
