Quintus Maximus
Q. Fabius Maximus Allobrogicus, consul 121 BC and conqueror of the Allobroges in Transalpine Gaul, the campaign which produced the Provincia Romana. Cicero invokes him at Pro Fonteio 36 as the man whose victory made the Gauls subject to Rome and so guarantor of Roman magistrates against barbarian witnesses; praised for his Greek learning at Brut. 107.
