Quintus Fabius Maximus (suffect consul 45 BC)

Caesarian partisan made suffect consul by Caesar in October 45 BC; he died on the morning of 31 December 45 BC, the last day of his term, prompting Caesar to appoint Caninius Rebilus consul for the remaining hours. The 'consul they were calling consul' whose curule chair was set up and then removed when his death was announced (Fam. 7.30). Distinct from Q. Fabius Maximus Cunctator (person:q-fabius-maximus-cunctator).
