Haterius

also: Haterianum ius, Haterius's gravy

A connoisseur or gourmand whose 'sauce' (Haterianum ius) Cicero contrasts jokingly with 'Hirtius's' in the gourmet banter of Fam. 9.18 (46 BC). Often connected with the rhetorical/culinary set around the Paetus letters; precise identity uncertain (possibly an ancestor of the Augustan orator Q. Haterius). Flagged for further identification.
