Q. Opimius

Q. Opimius, tribune of the plebs c. 76 BC, who vetoed the lex Cornelia restricting the powers of his office; he was successfully prosecuted before Verres as urban praetor in 74 (Verr. 2.1.155-158), the trial Cicero treats as the leading instance of Verres's misuse of his civil jurisdiction.
