Q. Pompeius

also: Quintus Pompeius

Q. Pompeius, consul 141 BC, the first member of his obscure family to attain the consulship — a standing novus-homo exemplum (Verr. 2.5.181; Pro Mur. 16-17). Censor 131 with Q. Metellus Macedonicus; his Spanish command of 141-139 was reckoned a disaster. He was prosecuted by the Servilii Caepiones (Pro Font. 27; Brut. 96).
