Selene

Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Ptolemy VIII Physcon and Cleopatra III of Egypt, married to (among others) the Seleucids Antiochus IX, X, and XIII; mother of the boy-kings whose Roman embassy Cicero relates (Verr. 2.4.61). The story of Verres's theft of the Capitoline candelabrum hangs on the family's claim to Egypt.
