Servilia

Servilia, mother-in-law of the orator Q. Hortensius and host of Dio of Halaesa during his appeal at Rome (Verr. 2.2.24). Cicero stresses her old patronage of the Sicilians to expose Hortensius's connivance in Verres's extortions. Distinct from the more famous Servilia, mother of M. Brutus (Ad Att. 15.11).
