Staseas of Naples

Staseas

also: Staseam Neapolitanum, Staseas Neapolitanus, Stasea

A Peripatetic philosopher of Naples who lived for many years in the household of M. Pupius Piso. In De Finibus 5 Cicero contrasts Staseas, who allowed great weight to fortune and bodily goods, unfavourably with Antiochus's firmer doctrine.
