Theophanes of Mytilene

Theophanes

also: Cn. Pompeius Theophanes, Theophane, Theophanes, Theophanis

Greek historian of Mytilene and the intimate adviser and propagandist of Pompey, often serving as his confidential go-between. At Att. 2.5 he is the channel through whom the coalition's offer of an Egyptian commission might reach Cicero.
