Young Roman noble (b. c. 85 BC), of the Claudian gens; quaestor under Cicero in Cilicia (51--50 BC). Suitor for Tullia in 50 BC, but lost out to Dolabella. Father, by Livia Drusilla, of the future emperor Tiberius. Pompeian, then Caesarian; praetor 42 BC.
