Aegina

also: Aegina

An island in the Saronic Gulf between Attica and the Peloponnese, once a wealthy maritime power but in ruins by Cicero's day. Servius Sulpicius Rufus cites it in Ad Fam. 4.5 as one of the dead and broken cities he saw on his voyage, a memento-mori consolation for the death of Tullia.
