Agyrium

Agyrium, a sturdy inland city of northeastern Sicily, birthplace of the historian Diodorus Siculus; one of the model loyal communities of the Verrine narrative and the seat of multiple anecdotes of extortion (Verr. 2.2.25; 2.3.67-74). It lay on the route from Syracuse to Centuripae.
