Locrenses

Locri Epizephyrii, a Greek colony of southern Italy on the eastern coast of the toe of the peninsula, famed for its archaic legislation by Zaleucus and for its temple of Persephone, plundered by Pleminius and restored by the senate. The Locrenses ransomed the phylarch of Haluntium from pirates (Verr. 2.5.90) and Locrian citizenship is invoked among Greek civic honours (Pro Archia 5, 10).
