Lycia, the great mountainous region of southern Asia Minor between Caria and Pamphylia, organised under the late Republic as a confederation of free Greek cities (the Lycian League). Verres harassed it during his Cilician legateship (Verr. 2.1.95); a key naval theatre at the end of Cicero's life (Ad fam. 12.15 of Dolabella's flight there).
