Tanagra

A town in Boeotia, near which stood the tomb of a courtesan whose marble statue was carried off and later set up by Clodius as the goddess Libertas in Cicero's house. Cicero scorns the 'Tanagran liberty' as the image of a prostitute taken from a grave.
