Tolosa

Tolosa (modern Toulouse), the chief city of the Volcae Tectosages in Transalpine Gaul, taken by Q. Servilius Caepio in 106 BC (the spoils of the notorious aurum Tolosanum). Under Fonteius it was the principal collecting-point of the wine-duty levied by his prefect Titurius (Pro Fonteio 19).
