Empedoclea

The Empedoclea, a now-lost Latin didactic poem by one Cn. Sallustius (an associate of Cicero's, not the historian) on the cosmological doctrines of Empedocles of Acragas. Cicero teasingly tells his brother that anyone who can endure to read it is a man indeed, but no human being (Ad Q. fr. 2.9.3). The work survives only in this notice.
