Prometheus (Aeschylus)
the Prometheus
also: Prometheus, Prometheus Bound, Prometheus Vinctus, Prometheus Solutus
The Aeschylean tragedy (or its Latin adaptation) on the bound Titan Prometheus, punished by Jupiter for stealing fire for mortals. Cicero quotes its long speech of the fettered Prometheus on the Caucasus as a model of extreme, ages-long bodily torment.
