Son of P. Cornelius Sulla; in 54 BC he joined his father as a supporting prosecutor (subscriptor) in the ambitus prosecution of A. Gabinius.

The veteran legions in Campania mutinied in 47 BC over unpaid bonuses and discharge; P. Cornelius Sulla, sent to pacify them, was pelted with stones when he tried to address the twelfth. The "Sulla" of this section is the Caesarian commander, not the dictator.

P. Cornelius Sulla and M. Valerius Messalla Rufus (cos. 53), both Caesarian agents, were hurrying south to confront the mutinous legions; their route brought them through Brundisium, raising Cicero's hope of a face-to-face appeal. This Sulla is the commander, not the dictator.
